Automobiles in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then located many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the incident made him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
